Fun ways to “Bring History To Life”
Having met with Brendan Halpin, captain of the Irish Medieval Combat team, recently he was very keen to get involved.
Together we are working on fun ways to “Bring History To Life”.
It will also help you get fit and become a modern day knight!
As children we all have dreamed of being knights who fight bravely to win the day! We are helping make that dream become a reality.
Each month Medieval Armoured Combat Ireland will tell us about their armour, weapons.
They will even teach us some moves to help us have more fun and play more!

The story behind A Knight in Shining Armour!
I’m Brendan, the Captain of the Irish Medieval Combat team, I’ve been fighting in medieval armour for about 5 years.
I got involved because I was studying medieval armour in college.
Try it out!
The next logical step was to put on the armour and try it out for real, I haven’t looked back since!
Fantastic way to keep fit, learn discipline and self-control
Medieval combat, like any martial art, is a fantastic way to keep fit, learn discipline and self-control, and of course have fun.
If you are having fun you won’t even realise you are exercising
Fun should be a big part of whatever you do to keep active, if you aren’t enjoying it you won’t last at it, if you are having fun you won’t even realise you are exercising. For me getting hit with swords is definitely the right kind of fun!
