Galway’s own Eugene Horan is an actor and artist who has worked with some of the biggest names in sport and Hollywood. It is great to have Eugene take part in our #InspiringYou interview series. This is an initiative to help children across Ireland connect with leading personalities from all walks of life.
#InspiringYou
The idea for #InspiringYou is for us to inspire each other and to help children dream of a brighter tomorrow. It would be great if the #InspiringYou interviews help start conversations in families around the country.
A dreamer!
As a child in Claregalway Eugene was enthralled by sport and enchanted by movies. One of Eugene’s greatest gifts is his ability to dream. Watching soccer legend Paul McGrath in action or a movie with Al Pacino helped fuel his imagination and passion.
Dreams come alive
Eugene is known for his great sense of humour, resilience and creative flair. On leaving school he worked hard to develop his acting skills and blossomed as an artist. Over the years Eugene has worked with Al Pacino and Martin Sorcsese as well as painting for the family of rugby great Jonah Lomah, football greats Juan Mata, Andrea Pirlo and Roberto Carlos to name but a few.
Hollywood legends and Sports icons
The Galway man is now seeing his dreams come alive through his acting, art and his “In Depth” podcast series with interviewing some of the biggest names in sport.
Just ask Eugene!
This is a great chance for you to ask Eugene about acting, art or how to make dreams come true

We want parents/guardians to send us their children’s questions.

Deadline
The deadline for sending us your questions is 8pm on the 6th of June. Time to get thinking and talking about what you would like Eugene to answer!
It’s good to talk
In 1937 the Irish government felt that children were too busy to talk to their family and neighbours! They made it part of their homework to write down family history, folklore, songs etc. Their work is now part of the amazing Duchas Project.
Family history
It is unusual that children have so much free time so maybe they use it
effectively to learn about their local and family history?
In these challenging times we can encourage our children to ring or write
to elderly relatives and record stories that influenced their
lives. Who knows they may have some great sporting moments to
share with the next generation!
