Hope Calling – Glaoch Dóchas lyrics

We are really excited to have some students from Gaelscoil Choláiste Mhuire from Dublin perform the world premiere of Glaoch Dóchas. Here are the lyrics so you can join in on the 1st of May:

I refuse to stay Diúl-taím faaan-acht (Dual-team faan-acht)

In that hopeless place San áit gan dó-chas sin (San awtch gon doh-khass shin)

In my darkest hour I m’uair is dorrr-cha (Im ooh-ir iss dur-kha)

I can feel the power Braith im an chu-mhacht  (Brah-im un khoo-ukht)

Of my hope calling De ghla-och mo dhó-chais (De glee-ukh mo ghoh khas)

Hope calling Gla-och dó-chais (glee-ukh ghoh khas)

I hear hope calling Clois-im gla-och dó-chais(Klish-im glee-ukh ghoh khas)

Hope is my home Is é an dó-chas mo-bhail-e (Shay un doh-khass muh wal-yeh)

Great women and men Mná ‘s fir mhór-a(Mnaw is fir wo-ra)

They saw something up ahead A bhfac-a rud am-ach romh-ainn(A ach-a rud am-ach ro-ann)

That others could not see Nach bhfac-a éinne eil-e (Nok ach-a ain-yah ella)

And yet they still believed Ach chre-id si-ad fós (Akh khridge sheed fohss)

They are hope calling Si-n gla-och dóch-ais (Iss eed shood un goh-khass egg glee-ukh)

Hope calling Gla-och dó-chais (glee-ukh ghoh khas)

They are hope calling Si-n gla-och dóch-ais(Shin glee-ukh ghoh khas)

Hope is my home Is é an dó-chas mo-bhail-e (shay un goh-khass muh wal-yeh)

Are you listening? An gclo-ise-ann tú? (On glish-an too?)

You have to hear with your heart yeah Caith-fidh tú éist-eacht le do chroí

(Kha-hee too aysh-takht le duh khree)

Are you listening? An gcloiseann tú? (On glish-an too?)

I hear hope calling Clois-im gla-och dó-chais (Klish-im glee-ukh ghoh khas)

Hope calling Gla-och dó-chais (glee-ukh ghoh khas)

I hear hope calling Clois-im gla-och dó-chais (Klish-im glee-ukh ghoh khas)

Hope is my home Is é an dó-chas mo-bhail-e (shay un goh-khass muh wal-yeh)

Go hopefully, eternally Go dó-chas-ach, go si-oraí (Go dohk-huhs-ach, guh shee-ree)
