Rena Buckley Inspiring You Competition!

Children need our support now more than ever which is why the team at Inspiring You are delighted to join forces with Cork great Rena Buckley.

Rena’s All-Ireland glory

It is a real honour to have sporting great Rena Buckley supporting our work to inspire children to dream of a brighter tomorrow. Rena has won 7 camogie and 11 football All-Ireland medals for Cork and 3 football All-Ireland titles with her club Donoughmore.

Dynamic team

The dynamic team at The Childhood Museum of Ireland and the acclaimed children’s author Emma Larkin are working with us to help fuel the imaginations and sporting passions of primary school children throughout Ireland.

Fun football boots competition

The #ILoveMyBootsBecause competition is designed to be fun. Primary school children can send us a photo of their favourite football boots and a short story, poem or song telling us why they love their football boots so much.   You can submit you entry here.

Who can enter?

The competition is open to all primary school students. You can enter as many times as you want!

Write a song/poem/story

We want you to use your imagination and write a song, poem or story telling us why you love your football boots! Your entry can be as short or as long as you want or in any style. You can submit your entry here.

Send a photo of your boots

Send us a photo of your favourite pair of boots. We only want a picture of your boots – no people in the image please!  You can submit your entry here.

Share your link

If you have entered a song or poem and have posted it online you can share the link with us. Your link can be shared with us here.

Competition prizes

Some lucky entrants, picked at random, will win a sliotar or football signed by Cork’s Rena Buckley or a signed copy of Izzy’s Magical camogie or football adventure books by Emma Larkin.

Shared online

A selection of entries will also be shared on the social media platforms of Inspiring You, The Childhood Museum of Ireland and Emma Larkin books to inspire other children to dream!

Fuel imaginations

We hope that our competition will help fuel children’s imaginations and keep them connected with their love of sport until training resumes. We would like to thank Rena’s generosity of spirit in supporting our work to inspire children.

Inspiring You was formed in 2017 by a group of friends who work in education and media. We work on ideas to encourage children to engage in more real life activities and to use social media less.

Deadline

The deadline for entries for the #ILoveMyBootsBecause competition is 8pm on March 14th 2021.

Winners announced

Our team at Inspiring You will work  The Childhood Museum of Ireland and children’s author Emma Larkin  in picking some random winners of our prizes.  The winners will be announced on March 21st at 8pm.
