Samhain Sing Song with Damien Dempsey

Raise your “spirits” in Galway this Samhain with an all ages Damien Dempsey sing song. Join us on Saturday October 18th at 7.30 in the auditorium at Galway Community College for an intimate evening of songs, stories, Celtic tales and tunes with Damien Dempsey, one of Ireland’s leading musicians.

Samhain Tales & Trad Tunes

Reconnect with our vibrant Samhain traditions, hear fascinating tales from a local historian and the director of the Rathcroghan Visitor Centre. It will be an evening filled with trad tunes from young local musicians and folk songs sung by Damien.

The “Samhain Sing Song with Damien Dempsey” is a concert devised by the team at “Inspiring You” ,who work with Damien, to encourage the rekindling of the #SongandStories tradition while encouraging young and old to give their phones a break! Gaillimh AhBoo and Cunningham Auto Point are main sponsors of this unique all ages show ensuring that The West will be truly Awake on October 18th and in full voice!

One of Ireland’s brightest young stars, Galway’s own Róisín Seoighe, will be performing a guest slot on the night. Ironically Róisín won a song writing competition organised by “Inspiring You” and Damien in 2015!

This unique concert gives you an opportunity to connect with our Samhain traditions, culture, music and Irish language – just like our ancestors did in the “Rare Ould Times”!  Forget the horror, it’s time to embrace our rich Celtic past! This will be a night of real-life connection in this special all ages show in an alcohol free environment.
