Galway\u2019s own Eugene Horan<\/a> is an actor and artist who has worked with some of the biggest names in sport and Hollywood. It is great to have Eugene<\/a> take part in our #InspiringYou<\/strong> interview series. This is an initiative to help children across Ireland connect with leading personalities from all walks of life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

#InspiringYou<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The idea for #InspiringYou<\/strong> is for us to inspire\neach other<\/strong> and to help children dream of a brighter tomorrow<\/strong>.\nIt would be great if the #InspiringYou<\/strong> interviews help start\nconversations in families around the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A dreamer!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

As a child in Claregalway<\/a> Eugene\nwas enthralled by sport and enchanted by movies. One of Eugene\u2019s\ngreatest gifts is his ability to dream<\/a>. Watching soccer legend Paul McGrath<\/a> in action or a\nmovie with Al Pacino<\/a> helped\nfuel his imagination and passion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dreams come alive<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Eugene is known for his great sense of humour, resilience and creative flair. On leaving school he worked hard to develop his acting skills and blossomed as an artist.  Over the years Eugene has worked with Al Pacino<\/a> and Martin Sorcsese<\/a> as well as painting for the family of rugby great Jonah Lomah<\/a>, football greats Juan Mata<\/a>, Andrea Pirlo<\/a> and Roberto Carlos<\/a> to name but a few. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hollywood legends and Sports icons<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Galway man is now seeing his dreams come alive through his acting, art and his \u201cIn Depth\u201d podcast series<\/a> with interviewing some of the biggest names in sport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s good to talk<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In 1937<\/strong> the Irish government<\/strong> felt that\nchildren were too busy to talk to their family and neighbours<\/strong>! They\nmade it part of their homework to write down family history, folklore,\nsongs<\/strong> etc. Their work is now part of the amazing Duchas Project<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family history<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

It is unusual that children have so much free time so maybe they use it
\neffectively to learn about their local and family history<\/strong>?
\nIn these challenging times we can encourage our children to ring or write
\nto elderly relatives<\/strong> and record stories that influenced their\nlives. Who knows they may have some great sporting moments<\/strong> to\nshare with the next generation!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
