It is a great honour to have Monaghan’s <\/strong>All Star goalkeeper Rory Beggan<\/a><\/strong> take part in our #InspiringYou<\/strong> interview series. We are giving children from around the country the opportunity to send questions to some of Ireland\u2019s leading personalities<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

#InspiringYou<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The idea for #InspiringYou<\/strong> is for us to inspire each other<\/strong> and to help children dream of a brighter tomorrow<\/strong>. It would be great if the #InspiringYou<\/strong> interviews help start conversations in families around the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All-Star Rory<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Rory<\/a> is recognised as being one of the most influential goalkeepers of the modern era. He is a central figure of the Scotstown<\/a> and Monaghan<\/a> football teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A football revolutionary!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Rory’s genius footballing brain<\/a>, superb vision, attacking footballing ability and brilliant free taking skills makes him one of the most feared opponents in the game. His approach has helped change the way the modern game is being played<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scotstown dedication<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

After receiving his All-Star award in 2018<\/a> Rory<\/strong> turned down the opportunity to travel to Philadelphia with the All-Star squad<\/strong> so he could play for his club Scotstown in the Monaghan championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deadline for sending us your questions is 8pm on the 23rd of May<\/strong>. Time to get thinking and talking about what you would like Monaghan\u2019s<\/strong> Rory<\/strong> to answer!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s good to talk<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In 1937<\/strong> the Irish government<\/strong> felt that children were too busy to talk to their family and neighbours<\/strong>! They made it part of their homework to write down family history, folklore, songs<\/strong> etc. Their work is now part of the amazing Duchas Project<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family history<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

It is unusual that children have so much free time so maybe they use it
effectively to learn about their local and family history<\/strong>?
In these challenging times we can encourage our children to ring or write
to elderly relatives<\/strong> and record stories that influenced their lives. Who knows they may have some great sporting moments<\/strong> to share with the next generation!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
