We are really excited to have primary school teacher, Galway<\/strong><\/a> and North Melbourne <\/a><\/strong>footballer Mair\u00e9ad Seoighe<\/strong> take part in our #InspiringYou<\/strong> interview series.  Clonbur\u2019s<\/a><\/strong> Mair\u00e9ad would love to receive questions about her club, county and Aussie Rules<\/strong> career. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Football for Clonbur<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Mair\u00e9ad <\/a><\/strong>has always been an active person growing up in Joyce Country<\/a><\/strong> in Cloughbrack, Clonbur Co.Galway. She joined Clonbur <\/strong>at the age of 7 and her passion and natural skill for the game blossomed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Galway\nGirl<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Mair\u00e9ad\u2019s work ethic and dedication was rewarded by being selected for the Galway ladies football team<\/a><\/strong>. She quickly became known for her tough tackling<\/strong> and leadership<\/strong> on the pitch. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adventures \u201cDown Under\u201d!<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Mair\u00e9ad\u2019s <\/strong>talent was spotted by the Australian Rules team the North Melbourne Kangaroos.<\/a><\/strong> The chance to play as a footballing pioneer<\/strong> is the AFLW<\/strong> was too good to pass up for Mair\u00e9ad<\/strong> and she signed a contract <\/strong>in 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Life in Melbourne<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Living as a professional footballer<\/strong> in Melbourne is the stuff of sporting dreams. Mair\u00e9ad<\/strong> would be happy to answer any of your questions. Maybe you could ask about resilience<\/strong>, diet<\/strong>, life as a professional AFLW player<\/strong>, or Mair\u00e9ad’s<\/strong> sporting dreams<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s good to talk<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1937<\/strong> the Irish\ngovernment<\/strong> felt that children were too busy to talk to their family\nand neighbours<\/strong>! They made it part of their homework to write down family\nhistory, folklore, songs<\/strong> etc. Their work is now part of the\namazing Duchas\nProject<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family history<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is\nunusual that children have so much free time so maybe they use it
\neffectively to learn about their local and family history<\/strong>?
\nIn these challenging times we can encourage our children to ring or write
\nto elderly relatives<\/strong> and record stories that influenced their\nlives. Who knows they may have some great sporting moments<\/strong> to\nshare with the next generation! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
