Getting children inspired<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

It is a great honour to have Rena <\/strong>launch our #InspiringYou<\/strong> interview series where children from around the country are being given the opportunity to send questions to some of Ireland’s leading personalities<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have you ever wanted to ask<\/strong> sports legend Rena Buckley<\/strong> about her career, training<\/strong>, dealing with match day<\/strong> nerves, diet or her 21 All-Ireland Finals<\/strong>? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now is you chance! We want parents\/guardians to send us their children’s questions<\/strong>. Everyone who sends us a question will be in with a chance to win a Gaelic football<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deadline for sending us your questions is 8pm on April 7th<\/strong>. Time to get thinking and talking about what you would like “Rebel Rena”<\/a><\/strong> to answer! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

#InspiringYou<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The idea for #InspiringYou<\/strong> is for us to inspire each other<\/strong> and to help children dream of a brighter tomorrow. It would be great if the #InspiringYou<\/strong> interviews help start conversations about sport<\/strong> and possibilities<\/strong> in families around the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s good to talk<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In 1937<\/strong> the Irish government<\/strong> felt that children were too busy to talk to their family and neighbours<\/strong>! They made it part of their homework to write down family history, folklore, songs<\/strong> etc. Their work is now part of the amazing Duchas Project<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family history<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

It is unusual that children have so much free time so maybe they use it effectively to learn about their local and family history<\/strong>? In these challenging times we can encourage our children to ring or write to elderly relatives<\/strong> and record stories that influenced their lives. Who knows they may have some great sporting moments<\/strong> to share with the next generation!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
