Inspiring You<\/strong> has joined forces with Salthill Village<\/strong><\/a> and Steeltech Garden Sheds<\/strong><\/a> to help raise awareness about plastics pollution in our seas and with your help \u2013 end it.<\/p>\n

\u201cSave our Seas<\/strong>\u201d from plastic pollution<\/h3>\n

We are asking primary and secondary school students across Ireland to enter our\u00a0\u201cOcean Transformers<\/a>\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0competition<\/strong>. All you have to do is write a short message or design a poster encouraging people to take action and \u201cSave our Seas<\/strong>\u201d from plastic pollution.<\/p>\n

Use social media less<\/h3>\n

Inspiring You<\/strong> are a group of Galway based friends who work in education and media.\u00a0 Their aim is to \u00a0try and encourage young people to engage in more real life activities and use social media less.<\/p>\n

Dream of a better future<\/h3>\n

Galway <\/strong>has long been a leader in tourism, arts and culture. The team at Salthill Village<\/strong> were very enthusiastic to help inspire young people to dream of a better future for our environment.<\/p>\n

Leading musician and marine biologist<\/h3>\n

One of Ireland\u2019s leading musicians and passionate environmentalist Sharon Shannon<\/strong><\/a> and Marine biologist Catherine Jordan<\/strong><\/a> have been part of this project with \u201cInspiring You<\/strong>\u201d since its inception.<\/p>\n

Our very own “Galway Girl”<\/h3>\n

Salthill<\/strong> is known for its beauty, scenery and famous prom – we want to keep it that way. The mid- point on The Wild Atlantic Way<\/strong> is one of Ireland\u2019s leading tourist destinations and has been immortalised in song by Bing Crosby’s <\/strong><\/a>version of “Galway Bay<\/a>“<\/strong>\u00a0and more recently by our very own, \u201cGalway Girl<\/a>\u201d, Sharon Shannon<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Optimus Prime encouraging young minds<\/h3>\n

The \u201cTransformer<\/strong><\/a>\u201d movie franchise is one of the highest grossing in history.\u00a0 One of Ireland\u2019s leading businesses, Steeltech Garden Sheds<\/strong>, were delighted to lend us, “Optimus Prime<\/strong>\u201d and \u201cBumbleBee<\/strong>\u201d to help encourage young minds to become \u201cOcean Transformers\u201d.<\/p>\n

Message to the World<\/h3>\n

Optimus Prime<\/strong> is known for his \u201cMessage to the World<\/strong><\/a>\u201d so we are excited to see what the students of Ireland\u2019s , \u201cMessage to the World<\/strong>\u201d will be through art and writing.<\/p>\n

Tribes Press publishers<\/strong><\/a> and artist Fiona Concannon<\/strong><\/a> will be guiding students with a series of blogs throughout the duration of the competition.<\/p>\n

The two winners will receive great class prizes.\u00a0 The student\/class who submits the winning message will receive a \u201cLand and Sea Tour of Galway<\/strong>\u201d for 25 students.<\/div>\n

It is a great prize courtesy of\u00a0\u00a0Galway Bay Tours<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Galway City Tours<\/a><\/div>\n

Swimming and crazy golf with your class<\/h3>\n

The student\/class who submits the winning poster will enjoy a fun filled day swimming and playing crazy golf thanks to\u00a0Leisureland<\/a>\u00a0Galway.<\/p>\n

Enjoy a “Pizza” of Salthill<\/h3>\n

But don\u2019t worry the winning classes will not go home hungry as they will be treated to pizza and a drink at\u00a0Supermac\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0Salthill.<\/p>\n

Future leaders of tomorrow<\/h3>\n

Young people are the future leaders of tomorrow so we need you to help raise awareness about plastic polluting our oceans today!<\/p>\n

Entry deadline<\/h3>\n

Students can enter as an individual, a group or a class.\u00a0 The deadline for entering is 5pm on Friday March 29th<\/strong>.\u00a0 Email philip@inspiringyou.ie<\/a> for any queries.<\/p>\n
