Inspiring You<\/strong> has joined forces with\u00a0Steeltech Sheds<\/a>\u00a0to help get primary school students baking and decorating cakes this Christmas.\u00a0 Learning and fun can take many different forms. We would love to see as many children as possible getting creative for “The Great Steeltech Bake Off”<\/a><\/p>\n

Fun and creativity are key ingredients!<\/h3>\n

The idea for this competition is really simple.\u00a0 Bake a cake in the shape of a Steeltech shed, garage, chalet<\/a>.\u00a0 The cake will be judged on appearance alone<\/strong>.\u00a0 The two key ingredients needed for the “Bake Off”<\/strong> competition are fun and creativity.<\/p>\n

Deadline for entering<\/h3>\n

Images of your creation must be submitted by Tuesday the 11th of December at 5pm<\/strong>.\u00a0 Checkout out the submission page\u00a0here<\/a><\/p>\n

Top 10 selected for “Bake Off “final<\/h3>\n

The top ten finalists will be contacted by phone and must be available to attend, “The Great Steeltech Grand Final<\/a>” at 7pm on Friday the 14th of December<\/strong>.\u00a0 \u00a0Each finalists cake will be posted on social media and related websites prior to judging.<\/p>\n

Judging takes place in Claregalway Castle<\/h3>\n

It should be a very memorable evening as the final will be judged in the luxurious surroundings of Claregalway Castle<\/a>\u00a0.\u00a0 Each finalist must bring their cake to the castle for judging.\u00a0 You will not have any baking to do on the night.\u00a0 All you have to do is simply relax and enjoy the occasion.\u00a0 Each finalist will be allowed bring two guests to support them on the night of the final.<\/p>\n

Gold in the World Bakery championships<\/h3>\n

Jimmy Griffin<\/strong>, of\u00a0Griffins Bakery<\/a> in Galway, will be judging the lucky finalists.\u00a0 He is regarded as one of the world’s finest bakers and pastry chefs and has coached Ireland to gold in the World Bakery championships<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Creativity and imagination<\/h3>\n

The emphasis for this competition is on creativity and imagination.\u00a0 Jimmy will be judging on the cakes presentation alone.<\/p>\n

“The Great Steeltech Bake Off 2018” Cup<\/h3>\n

The lucky winner will receive \u20ac100 and the much coveted, “The Great Steeltech Bake Off 2019” Cup<\/strong>.\u00a0 As it is the season of giving the winner’s class will be treated to a hot chocolate and pastry in Griffin’s Bakery<\/a><\/p>\n

Fun tour of Galway City<\/h3>\n

To finish off the celebrations the winner’s class will also be given a walking tour by the highly engaging and entertaining Shane Spelman<\/strong> of Galway City Tours<\/a>. Shane can tailor the tour to suit the needs and interests of the group.\u00a0 He is also known to finish some of his tours with a song or two!<\/p>\n

A “Knight” Airbnb for the teachers!<\/h3>\n

Don’t worry we haven’t forgotten the hardworking teachers!\u00a0 The teacher of the winning student will receive a night airbnb<\/a>\u00a0 in the luxurious environs of Claregalway Castle<\/a>. No better way to unwind after a busy term at school!<\/p>\n

Pride of place<\/h3>\n

The “icing on the cake” for the winning student is that their cake will have pride of place in Griffin’s window<\/strong> in the lead up to Christmas.\u00a0 Shop Street<\/a> in Galway is one of the busiest shopping streets in Ireland.\u00a0 Your creation might well turn some heads this Christmas!<\/p>\n

Get baking and decorating<\/h3>\n

Inspiring You<\/strong> wants young people to become more active in real life activities and not to rely on social media for “likes” to feel good about themselves.\u00a0 What better way to have fun than get baking and decorating with your fellow students, family and friends?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We will be posting some ideas and tips from Inspiring You baking contributor, Cathy Fahy<\/a>,<\/strong> in the coming days, so watch this space!<\/p>\n

How do I submit my entry?<\/h3>\n

You simply click on “The Great Steeltech Bake Off<\/a>” and upload the images of your cake and some contact details.\u00a0 Photos submitted with images of people will not be considered for judging.<\/p>\n
