The team at “Inspiring You” love fun ideas.\u00a0 The creative genius that is Cathy Fahy<\/strong> certainly ticks that box.\u00a0 The phenomenally successful\u00a0\u00a0Great British Bake Off<\/a>\u00a0has captured the imaginations of\u00a0 millions globally.<\/p>\n

We thought it was the perfect time for us to help inspire the next generation of bakers.<\/p>\n

Get more active in real life<\/h3>\n

We are delighted that Galway<\/strong> based baker Cathy<\/strong> shares our vision to help children get more active in real life.\u00a0 What better way to have some fun than by copying some of Cathy ideas.<\/p>\n

We will be launching Cathy’s<\/strong> first “Inspiring bake off challenge<\/strong>” later this month.\u00a0 The idea is simple.\u00a0 You can follow Cathy’s<\/strong> recipe and instructions or do your own creation.<\/p>\n

Inspire other budding bakers<\/h3>\n

Baking is proven to be a great “switch off” and a very rewarding pastime.\u00a0 It is a great way to unleash your creative side.\u00a0 Who knows with Cathy’s guidance you could be the next\u00a0Paul Hollywood<\/a>\u00a0or Mary Berry<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Cathy Fahy – From chocolate cake to a\u00a0Minion<\/a>\u00a0hurler!<\/h3>\n

As a child I loved to eat my mothers chocolate cake. I still use her recipe today. Yum!
\nI used to draw and paint every day and took pottery classes, which help now with sculpting cakes.<\/p>\n

Developed many skills in the arts<\/h3>\n

I studied art\u00a0 in the RTC now GMIT<\/a> where I developed many skills in the arts. On graduating I then moved to Dublin<\/strong> to study Display Design<\/strong> (window display) in DIT<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After that I worked in Anthony Ryans<\/a>, dressing windows until 2007.\u00a0 I then decided to stay at home with my expanding family.<\/p>\n

My kids loved them<\/h3>\n

It wasn’t long before I began to experiment with baking and decorating. My early cakes were not good but fun to make and my kids loved them. I used to make cakes for family, friends and neighbours and was soon up and running with “Cakes by Cathy<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

All you need is time<\/h3>\n

Anyone can learn to decorate a cake. All you need is time and fondant icing. Enjoy experimenting, I know I do!<\/p>\n
